We are now able to supply matching hoods for the DeMeulenkamp Sweet
Itch Rugs. Hoods come in Pony, Cob, Full
and Extra Full Size.
Please note - hoods are labelled "A", "B", "C"
and "D" for pony, cob, full and extra full - so a "C" is a full size, not a cob size. Yes, I
know - it confused me too at first!
All sizes cost £40
including p&p

Hoods come with either mesh or a
fringe. I usually keep the mesh version in stock but can order the fringe
version if you would prefer it - please allow up to 14 days for delivery.
Fitting Instructions: These hoods are ONLY designed to be worn with a rug.
They will also fit on the Boett rug though you may need to replace or move the
clips. They have velcro straps which do up on
clips sewn on the rug itself, and a loop, through which you pass the elastic on
the rug at the poll (just behind the ears). They extend down below the neck of
the rug so the entire poll area and top of the mane are completely protected.
You will see there are four "button holes" on the
neck of the rug, just up from the clips. Open these button holes with a sharp
knife. You can then put the hood on the horse, then the rug, and insert the
webbing straps on the hood through the button holes; then fasten the velcro
through the clips. The
neck piece of the rug should then be on top of the lower part of the hood. Pass
the strap at the top of the rug through the loop in the hood. It's rare for
horses to be able to remove hoods fitted like this but occasionally the hood may
slip forward. If this happens you need to either move the velcro further on to
the hood, move the clips the velcro fastens on to, or else actually shorten the
neck part of the hood itself.
